A charity shop was unable to open its doors to customers after a driver left their car parked across the entrance. The British Red Cross, off Addison Road, in Kings Heath, was forced to remain shut after someone plonked their Ford Fiesta right in front of the shop.
A series of notes were left by the British Red Cross on the door and tacked on to the car. A passer-by took images of the notes and posted them on a Kings Heath Neighbourhood group on Facebook with the caption 'British Red Cross shop closed today due to selfish parking'.
The one on the door read: "Sorry we are closed due to car blocking door." While the notes left on the windscreen said: “Leaving your car here has resulted in us not being able to open our shop today.

“A donation towards the shop’s loss of earnings would be greatly appreciated. We missed out on vital funds that help people in crisis. "Due to this car being parked, obstructing our fire exit.....”.
The Red Cross is part of a worldwide organisation which is first on the scene of a humanitarian crisis providing practical support. The images sparked angry reaction online.
Clare Spencer said: "There is some really selfish parking there. I reported the van by the freezer shop for several weeks of obstructing the public highway, but parking so badly that a shop can't open really takes the biscuit."
Sheldon Lawrence wrote: "Awful behaviour, it’s a real problem at that end of Addison in particular too. Antisocial parking needs to be designed out of the streets but nothing ever seems to be done. Hope this doesn’t happen again - glad I was able to donate on Saturday."
Farriha Chrishty said: "Absolutely disgraceful behaviour !" Karl Rowberry wrote: "Absolute disgrace."
Susan Keating wrote: "What a selfish plonker!! Sorry I can't think of anything else - maybe worse but I don't want to get kicked off! It really is getting worse isn't it."
