A few seasons ago, Chase Field served my favorite hot dog in Arizona. The Jalepeno Popper Dog was topped with a spicy, pepper-studded cream cheese sauce, sliced jalapenos and crispy fried onions. It was cheesy, incredibly messy and my favorite thing about baseball.
Alas, that delicious dog was taken off the menu and is no longer available.
But now, the Arizona Diamondbacks stadium has announced its new menu items for the upcoming 2022 baseball season and I have high hopes for a new hot dog that sounds equally enticing.
The Arizona Diamondbacks Dog will be topped with hatch green chile queso, chorizo, fire-roasted corn, pico de gallo and venom sauce, a creamy and spicy spread.
The new hot dog is just one of a host of new options for hungry baseball fans coming soon to Chase Field.

New food options at Chase Field for 2022
Fans of green chiles have more new options at the stadium this season. At Burger Burger, located in section 214, a new Hatch Valley Whiskey Burger is on the menu. The burger is made with ground chuck and topped with cheddar, whiskey barbecue sauce, roasted green chile and crispy onions.
For those looking for the perfect compromise between nachos and fries, try the new Buffalo Chicken Sidewinder. Twisted fried potatoes are topped with Flamin' Hot Cheetos dust, smoked chicken, blue cheese, green onions and ranch.
This spicy creation will be available at the Taste of Chase concession in section 130.
For fans crazy about Flamin' Hot Cheetos, Gonzo's Grill in section 141 has another option. Try the Flamin’ Hot Chicken Wrap, a spinach tortilla wrap filled with Cheeto-dusted chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese and bacon.
In section 121, PV Burger will be replaced this year by Copper State Steaks, a new Philly cheesesteak spot. Try signature dishes like the Cowboy Steak topped with Cheeze Whiz, barbecue sauce and crispy onions or the Barbecue Brisket Dip made with smoked brisket, hot giardiniera or Italian relish, and barbecue jus served with fries.

Along with the exciting new Arizona Diamondbacks Dog, the Big Dawgs concession stand will also offer a rotating special this season. The VS. Dog will change with each home game and represent the opposing team.
For opening week games, the specials are the Padres Dog, a bacon-wrapped hot dog topped avocado crema, queso fresco and fresh jalapeño and the Astros Dog, a fried hot dog topped with yellow mustard, diced onion and beef chili sauce. Big Dawgs is located in section 126.
New restaurants coming soon to Chase Field
The new menu items at Chase Field's concession stands are far from the only new food options at the field this season. Six new restaurants are set to open soon, including Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers which will take over the iconic Friday's Front Row upper deck restaurant.
Just outside the stadium gates, Food Network star Guy Fieri is also working on bringing a restaurant to baseball fans. It is set to open this spring and will be the chef's first sit-down restaurant in Arizona.
All these new food options may just be enough to get this non-sports fan back to the ballpark.
