Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert monitors the rear seats to detect the movements of children and pets, reminding drivers to check the rear seats when exiting the vehicle; if the system detects movement in the rear seats after the driver leaves and locks the vehicle, it can sound the horn and send an alert to the driver’s smartphone via Bluelink. The system is designed to help prevent children and pets from being forgotten in the car, but it can also help in case children accidentally lock themselves in.
Powertrain
Palisade power comes from an Atkinson-cycle 3.8-liter V6, dual CVVT, direct-injected engine, for excellent power and efficiency. This 3.8-liter powerplant produces an estimated 291 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm and an estimated 262 lb.-ft. of torque @ 5,200 rpm. Palisade delivers that power to the wheels via a refined eight-speed automatic transmission with a multi-plate torque converter and offers both two-wheel and HTRAC® four-wheel-drive configurations, with a final drive ratio of 3.648 for confident acceleration. Palisade is extremely quiet, with generous under-hood insulation, special sound-deadening carpets and powertrain tuning that delivers smooth, linear response. In addition, Palisade offers drivers the ability to start the vehicle via remote key fob or via the Blue Link app.

DEUS Automobiles, Italdesign, and Williams Advanced Engineering stand as one to inspire the way to luxury electric hypercars. This unique partnership emerged DEUS’ ambition to design and create an electric hypercar set to become the benchmark of driving emotion. Our dedication to achieving perfection is further refined by Italdesign’s heritage and skills and Williams Advanced Engineering’s ground-breaking electrification technologies.
The Vayanne design concept began to take shape in 2020 at DEUS Automobiles, and from the start it embodied the idea of merging an everlasting spirit with modernity and paying homage to DEUS’ Viennese roots.
Vayanne is the result of the three-way collaboration of philosophies and commitments with a shared goal of producing the first electric vehicle in automotive history to cross the 2,200 horsepower1 mark while delivering a comfortable and luxurious ride, outstanding performance figures, and maximum daily usability in the hypercar class.
With a ground clearance of 12 cm (4.7 inches) and useable storage space, the car integrates performance and practicality, while harnessing an acceleration figure of under 1.99 seconds1 for the 100 km/h (0-62 mph) launch truly deserves the title of master of versatility.
“We are really satisfied with the results achieved with the Vayanne, in this first phase of our collaboration with DEUS. Thanks to our distinctive experience in low series vehicle development and manufacturing, we are able to provide our technical support and know-how. Moreover, we are excited to apply and integrate the innovative technologies provided by our partner Williams Advanced Engineering,” said Marco Volpengo, Italdesign head of automotive business development Europe.
Our Vision is the Name Itself: Vayanne – Proudly Named After the Heart of Europe
DEUS Vayanne is a testimonial of seamlessly blending modern technology with timeless aspects of design, functionality, and interaction to deliver our ultimate promise: to breathtakingly break the boundaries between luxury and the future, just like the city of Vienna itself, that has endured for centuries while continuously evolving.
In this regard, DEUS is further confirming its Austrian heritage of outstanding quality standards brought to life with flair and passion.
Exterior Design – A Concept of Symmetry and Infinity
“At DEUS, design is not merely about the looks, it is an integrated concept that reflects the marque’s main credo: to effortlessly combine exquisite design and functionality with cutting-edge technology in the EV hypercar segment. To showcase this harmony, we chose to stylise the Vayanne around the idea of symmetry and geometric alignment of its lines and design features,” said Adrian-Filip Butuca, head of design at DEUS.
In this regard, the shape of the front and rear grilles is made to represent the infinity loop. The parametric grilles convey even more of a holistic approach through the meticulously aligned pattern that gradually increases in fade intensity. The pattern of the parametric grilles is represented by hexagonal shapes that continuously flow into each other to create the desired effect of angel wings being enclosed by the uninterrupted taillight strip in the rear and to further increase the premium feeling of the car’s stance in the front. Thus, the needed airflow for the cooling system and aerodynamic performance is assured, while maintaining the shape of the infinity symbol.
Furthermore, for every air duct there is another matching air duct to keep the styling in line with the symmetry while ensuring the angles of those ducts are geometrically aligned. This is the result of DEUS and Italdesign styling and engineering departments working hand-in-hand to make no compromises between design and feasibility and to achieve maximum performance.
Interior Design – The Oasis of Luxury in the EV Segment
Smooth yet dominant curves combined with refined geometry give the DEUS Vayanne its timeless aspect of exterior and interior design. We are embracing the ergonomic positioning of physical controls that are easy to use and let the driver focus on the most important thing – driving. Sporting a fully digital instrument cluster and control display this creates the ideal blend of experiences.
The 100-percent electric heart of Vayanne is fitted with green interiors. The natural leather selected for the upholstery was treated and produced combining sustainable, technologically advanced solutions throughout the production process, with strong commitment to zero waste for a circular economy model.
The two nuances featured on the launch configuration of the Vayanne, white and black, illustrate the synergy between purity, perfection, beauty and naturalness on the one hand and elegance, technology and avant-garde on the other.
DEUS is the first in the automotive industry to implement the Halo Infinity mirror throughout a vehicle’s interior. This innovative design feature as applied in the DEUS Vayanne is vital to carrying over DEUS’ infinity theme from the production-oriented hypercar concept’s exterior to its interior. It embraces the whole interior from the doors throughout the dashboard and connotes the infinite feeling of DEUS. The effect changes in regard to the viewing angle, a trait incorporated to suggest that everyone’s view is unique.
We put very high consideration in the way the Vayanne sounds, that is why we are determined to develop a configurable DEUS Active Sound to further enhance the driving experience.
The Production Version of the DEUS Vayanne will Feature Expert Technical Support from Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering
Williams Advanced Engineering and Italdesign are no strangers to collaboration; announcing a unique partnership in April 2021 for a high performance, flexible EV platform; EVX, supporting a long-term vision for EV architecture.

The all-new Kia Niro will arrive in the U.S. in three distinct powertrain configurations: the Niro HEV hybrid, the Niro PHEV plug-in hybrid, and the all-electric Niro EV. All Niro models are front-wheel-drive, which provides advantages in adverse weather. A 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is standard in HEV and PHEV.
The Niro HEV features a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine coupled with a 32kW permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, for a combined maximum power output of 139 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. Improved cooling, friction and combustion technologies ensure maximum fuel efficiency, and Niro HEV returns a targeted 53 mpg combined and an estimated driving range of 588 miles.
The Niro PHEV pairs the 1.6-liter engine with a 62kW electric motor, for a total system output of 180 hp and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. When it is connected to a Level 2 charger, the Niro PHEV can refill its 11.1-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery in under three hours. Fully charged, the all-electric range (AER) of the Niro PHEV is estimated at 33 miles12 when fitted with 16-inch wheels: an improvement of 25 percent over the model it replaces.
The all-electric Niro EV is powered by a 64.8 kWh battery and a 150kW (201-horsepower) motor with DC fast-charging capability as standard. Plugged in to a Level 3 fast charger, the Niro EV can replenish 10 to 80 percent in under 45 minutes, at a maximum charging capability of 85 kW. The 11kW onboard charger also helps recharge the Niro EV in under seven hours on a Level 2 charger. Targeted AER for the Niro EV is 253 miles. An optional heat pump and battery warmer help preserve range in cold temperatures.
In addition to Sport and Eco drive modes, the all-new Kia Niro introduces Green Zone Drive Mode, which automatically transfers Niro HEV and Niro PHEV into EV drive mode in residential areas, and nearby schools and hospitals. The Niro automatically uses electric power based on navigation cues and driving history data, and recognizes favorite places, such as home and office set in the navigation system.
Intelligent regenerative braking enables a variety of regeneration levels to easily slow the car and recuperate kinetic energy to maximize driving range. The system can calculate the amount of regeneration required using radar and road gradient information, and it can allow all Niro models to harvest the maximum amount of energy from its brakes while bringing the vehicle to a gentle halt.
At the 2022 New York International Auto Show, INDIEV announced today the INDI ONE, the company’s first all-electric model and the first-ever vehicle with a Vehicle Integrated Computer (VIC) capable of high-end gaming, will be available for pre-orders on Wednesday, April 13. Interested buyers can visit www.driveindi.com to place their order with a $100 deposit or visit INDIEV’s booth at the Jacob Javits Convention Center from April 15 – 24. Customers will begin taking delivery of their vehicles in Q2 2023.
Additionally, the company announced that William Bridge, CEO of Global Green USA, is the first customer in the world to reserve an INDI ONE. For every reservation, a portion of proceeds will be donated to Global Green, a leader for more than 25 years in advancing sustainable and resilient communities. Bridge and the Global Green Board, as well as its Honorary Board Emeritus, not only support INDI EV’s efforts to drive broad adoption of electric vehicles, but have offered their exclusive endorsement of the EV company. Global Green’s Honorary Board Emeritus is comprised of many of the world’s leading environmental and sustainability activists, including John Paul Dejoria, Leonardo DiCaprio, Dr. Jane Goodall, Norman Lear, Edward Norton, Yoko Ono, Robert Redford, and Ted Turner.
As part of the inaugural model launch, every customer pre-ordering a vehicle will receive a collectible gift that correlates to the selected color and trim level. Customers can choose from nine limited-edition exterior colors inspired by Southern California’s sun, surf, and entertainment lifestyle culture:
INDI ONE will start at $45,000; a premium model will be priced at $69,000. Customers are eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500.
Since the company introduced the INDI ONE prototype in 2021, the INDI ONE has become one of the industry’s most highly anticipated debuts. The INDI ONE is unlike any other electric vehicle on the market, showcasing INDIEV’s expressive design philosophy and a sophisticated technology platform. By offering them a digital toolbox, INDI EV empowers owners to customize and reshape the in-car experience without compromising their individuality.
“The future of smart mobility is in lockstep with the progression of Web3. Consumers today expect their vehicles to come with the required technology and equipment to intuitively adapt to their needs and interests. For some, that means playing podcasts and issuing basic voice commands. For others, it means VR gaming and live streaming. INDI ONE is revolutionary because it’s not just a mode of transportation; it was designed from the ground-up to be a technology platform to help you live a better life,” explained Andre Hudson, head of design, INDI EV.
Smartphone users frequently update and customize even the most mundane features, like alarms and ring tones, to express their individuality. The INDI ONE gives drivers the freedom to customize their vehicle in countless ways, like changing the sound of the horn, building a dog gate in the trunk, or tuning the vehicle to become the ultimate mobile content creation. Creating a space that learns, responds to, and fits your needs: it’s the embodiment of INDI EV’s “You Do You” philosophy.
VEHICLE INTEGRATED COMPUTER (VIC)
With no internal combustion engine, the eye-catching tinted glass hood instead covers the heart of the vehicle: the Vehicle Integrated Computer (VIC), the first-ever in-vehicle integrated computer capable of high-end gaming and much more. Supported by an open-sourced network and Software Development Kit (SDK) for third-party developers, VIC offers an array of media hardware and services including Life Assistant, a personalized virtual assistant equipped to learn your habits and enhance your life.
VIC’s advanced software allows riders (not drivers) to play the latest generation games; capture content while the vehicle is in motion thanks to interior and exterior cameras; live stream videos; and even shoot, edit, and upload content to the cloud – all from inside the vehicle.
“As EV adoption increases, future generations will make their purchasing decisions based on vehicles’ computing power and how well their technology supports and enhances their lives. We feel confident that INDI EV is positioned favorably to capture the hearts and minds of these buyers,” added Hudson.
SPACIOUS, SPORTY INTERIOR DESIGN
INDI ONE’s interior takes full advantage of the design freedom offered by electrification. It offers a beautiful minimalist cabin, with extensive use of sustainable, recycled materials, complemented by a panoramic sunroof window. A flat floor for the cabin provides plenty of legroom for passengers, as well as 43 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row. The dashboard screen features the speedometer and range gauge, as the rest of the dash supports a 15-inch center screen for infotainment and navigation, and a 15-inch right screen for passengers.
The center armrest holds a wireless phone charger, USB ports, and a small beverage cooler that fits up to four cans of your favorite beverage.
INTUITIVE SAFETY WARNINGS
INDI’s proprietary HALO Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Warning System is an onboard suite of safety features. It consolidates all directional warnings in one place that is easily visible and intuitive to the driver. This system is more intuitive than traditional warning systems and allows users to react quicker to dangers around them.
IMPRESSIVE BATTERY-POWERED PERFORMANCE
The INDI ONE rides on an adjustable air-ride suspension with all-wheel drive (AWD) and is available in a range of battery options to ensure customers always stay connected and in control of their experience. The base model has a 75KW battery capable of a 230-mile range; premium models are powered by a 95KW battery capable of a 300-mile range and producing 470 horsepower and 730 NM of torque for a top speed of 130 miles per hour. It as has a 0-60 mph time of just 4.2 seconds.
