The automaker describes the upcoming car as "designed with a sense of the future."
Genesis has released images of the X Speedium coupe, labeled as "Audacious. Progressive. Timeless." in posts by the brand on social media. Based upon hashtags used on Instagram, it appears that for now, the coupe is a concept electric vehicle. However, given the verbiage used by Genesis, it is possible that the X Speedium coupe may be a sign of vehicles to come for the brand. The X Speedium coupe is the second coupe crossover released by the brand since last year, following the Genesis X coupe in 2021.

The X Speedium coupe is not the first time that Genesis has hinted at wanting to build a sports car or a coupe specifically. The brand teased a coupe concept vehicle last year called the Genesis X that has design language that resembles this latest release. Genesis applied for a trademark for the name, with the nameplate possibly used for: “automobiles, parts and fittings for automobiles, sports cars, and coupes.” While we know that a trademark application does not always equate to a new product, there are indicators that this new Genesis vehicle, or at least some version of it, may come to fruition.

The car has design language that mimics other new releases from Genesis. The taillights are reminiscent of the recently redesigned G80 sedan, and the brand's choice of wording nodding to the future seem to be strong hints that the car is likely headed for release in some form. Otherwise, it could be the inspiration for other vehicles. Given Genesis' hashtags, it is also likely that the X Speedium coupe, should it ever see production, will utilize electrification in some form. Genesis has previously stated a goal of being fully electrified as a brand by 2030.

The Future Of Genesis
The Genesis brand has only been around for a few years and yet its vehicles have made a splash in the luxury market in part due to their striking designs and diverse lineup. Genesis recently announced that they will be implementing an independent dealership network, a move that signifies plans for growth as it further differentiates from parent company Hyundai.
Genesis currently offers six models in the United States, the G70 sport sedan, G80 midsize luxury sedan and G90 premium sedan as well as the GV60 EV crossover, GV70 SUV and larger GV80 SUV. Whether or not a sports coupe is on the horizon for Genesis, it's lineup already contains a wide range of products, particularly for luxury sedan buyers who may be looking for alternative options now that brands like Buick and Lincoln have moved away from them.
